U11AA’s Players of the Month – February 2025

The Hockey Alberta U11AA Hockey League is pleased to announce the winners of Players of the Month for the month of January – Brayson Sayer, Oliver Kraska and Fischer Sprunger. The league is also proud to announce the winner of the Community Player of the Month, Kellan Soparlo.

Community Player of the Month

Kellan Soparlo – Whitemud West

Kellan broke his wrist in late November and was in a cast for six weeks. Despite this, he was in attendance for every game to cheer on his teammates and participate, when possible. Once his cast was off, he was immediately back at practice doing modified drills and all he could to be back involved. His attitude and resilience through the injury was incredible and now he’s back in the starting lineup and doing better than ever! 


Players of the Month

North Yellow Division –  Brayson Sayer (Wainwright Polar Kings – F)

Brayson led the Wainwright Polar Kings in the regular season with 88 points! Over the month of February, he impressively added 13 goals and 11 assists to his record during the six (6) games he played. Brayson’s coaches say he plays both ends of the ice and his leadership has continued to grow throughout the season, both on and off the ice. He has a passion for the game and his dedication to his kraft shows. 

North Blue Division – Oliver Kraska (Leduc Roughnecks – G)

Oliver had an impeccable regular season between the posts for the Leduc Roughnecks. With nine (9) wins, two (2) losses, and one (1) tie, he had a .896 save percentage! For the month of February, he played three (3) games in the net, which he saved 76 of 73 shots (.938 save percentage). Beyond the numbers, Oliver is a passionate and enthusiastic teammate. His locker room presence and commitment to the game inspires those around him. 

South Division – Fischer Sprunger (Medicine Hat Hounds – F)

Fischer has been a leader for the Hounds this season. Over 24 games played, he has accumulated 116 points; he also affiliated for eight (8) games with the U13AA team, in which he had 15 points. For the month of February, Fischer played five (5) games, where he accumulated 19 goals and 11 assists. His coaches state that his ability to lead his teammates was a huge contributor to the team locking in 2nd place for the South Yellow Conference.
